Introducing Kate Wake-Walker: Managing Director
WW PR is a public relations based communications agency run by Kate Wake-Walker.
Extremely resourceful, energetic and well-connected, Kate has spent several years helping to promoting advertising and marketing organizations.
This is an area of commerce where image and innovation are of crucial importance. And it is a measure of her success that she is currently retained by ad agency VCCP to handle international communications. VCCP is responsible for the all-conquering ‘Compare the Meerkat’ advertising campaign and O2 advertising in UK and Europe.
Other clients at this ‘sharp end’ of commerce have ranged from the giant advertising agency networks BBDO and Publicis, to ‘creative hotshops’ like Amsterdam’s highly regarded Strawberry Frog. Kate has also worked for several prominent London-based film production companies and two of the ad industry’s most prestigious charitable organisations; The Designers and Art Directors Association and the History of Advertising Trust.
Not surprisingly, Kate now has an unparalleled knowledge of the advertising, marketing, branding, creative and digital industries, not only here in the UK but also in mainland Europe, the USA and the Middle East. This in turn has enabled her to build close and fruitful relationships with journalists, editors at the very top of the media industry as well as the prominent and emergent producers of print, TV, radio and Internet content.
WW PR has also operated on behalf of more ‘conventional’ brands include Toshiba Europe, The Pepper Corporation and Eurosport International.
The company can provide corporate communications in all its forms. Public relations services span not only media relations, including story mining, press releases, press lunches and launches, media alerts, requests for coverage and interview scheduling but also B2B trade communication, setting up or organizing participation in discussion ‘panels’ and industry award schemes.
Brand promotion activities include developing and organizing promotional events, corporate sponsorship advice and outreach, corporate participation and positioning at seminars, exhibitions and trade shows.
Kate’s networking skills have also played dividends in connecting clients’ senior management with the highest level of influencers not only in the media but also in leaders in related businesses, the arts and the world of entertainment.
On a more personal level, Kate has been called upon a number of troubleshooting tasks for prominent people and organizations.
Most recently she assisted The Dowager Viscountess Rothermere on the setting up and administration of her charitable trust, The Lady Rothermere Foundation and acting as Consultant managing Director she helped restructure and run the offices in London and New York.
Kate also devotes much of her spare time to The Mad Hatter’s Show, a star-studded celebration of the milliner’s art, which has now raised over £450,000 for The Children’s Trust.
A member of the organizing committee since 2004, she has overseen and encouraged its development from a ‘smart’ ladies only lunch for 400 into a ‘men included’ evening event at The Hurlingham Club that included a fashion show organised by fashion director and ex-supermodel Jane Carlton and an auction by Jeffrey Archer that raised £45K for the charity.
Timed to coincide with Ascot, it allows London’s top milliners including Victoria Grant, Siggi, Suzanne Bettley, JoJo Hats, Edwina Ibbotson, James Lock & Co Ltd, and Louis Mariette to display their latest creations before a ‘society’ audience, who can then purchase them after the show. The show attracts a glittering audience that has in turn encouraged participation from the likes of Cartier, Harvey Nichols, James Tyrwhitt, and Wolford.
